EV (2W) Sales of Top-5 in July'25.

Updated: Aug 24

Sharp increase in sales for a few manufacturers over the last 3-4 days of July'25 helped limit the M-o-M drop to under 5%. While the sequence of Top-5 players is same as my previous update on 27th July, with TVS Motors being followed by Bajaj Auto, OLA Electric, Ather Energy & then Hero MotoCorp, we will now talk about 2 interesting Data points in the following 2 Tables.

Let's start with the first one: M-o-M Sales numbers of the Top-5 players.

While the Top-5 EV (2W) manufacturers have together reported almost 5% drop in sales M-o-M, it is interesting to note how the numbers stacked up for individual players. Have a look at the following Table to get a clear idea on that:

While the Top-3 players have reported 2-digit % drop in sales M-o-M, with Bajaj Auto reporting highest fall, the No.4 & 5 players have reported growth, with Hero MotoCorp reporting a very strong 37% growth in numbers. While most other reporters are highlighting only the fall in sales for OLA Electric, it has fared better that both TVS Motors & Bajaj Auto.

Yes....Ather Energy has reduced the gap to the No.3 spot if we look at the full monthly data. This is where my 2nd Data point will help analyse sales performance in a better way. For this I have broken July month into 3 almost-equal parts & considered sales numbers & Market Shares for those respective periods. Have a look at the following table:

This Table helps us better analyse how the sales progressed for these 5 manufacturers over the month of July'25. While Bajaj Auto had a small lead over TVS Motors for the first 2 parts of the month, it's sales disappointed sharply in the last part. In fact even OLA Electric managed to beat Bajaj Auto in the 3rd part by a comfortable margin & Ather too came close to pushing Bajaj to the No.4 spot.

While Ather had taken the No.3 spot ahead of OLA in the 1st part of July, the latter managed to improve significantly in the 2nd & 3rd parts to reclaim the No.3 spot by a comfortable margin. Hero MotoCorp is clearly seeing a sharp jump in sales on the back of it's new product launch & aggressive marketing campaigns. It is the top-gainer of Market Share for July'25 & seems to be carrying on with the momentum in August too.

Please Note: Anyone interested in keeping a track of the Daily Sales Statistics & Market Share progression on a Regular basis, may check out the following link where I have shared the 2 tables & the data is updated everyday from VAHAN reports.
