EV (2W) Sales: 5th July Update

We have VAHAN Data for first 5 days of July'25. The big surprise so far is that Ather Energy has overtaken OLA Electric for the No.3 spot, with sales of 3075 units for Ather & 2810 for OLA. The incumbent players TVS Motor (3627 units) & Bajaj Auto (3459 units) continue to hold Top-2 spots, but their positions are also under threat now. As can be seen from the table alongside, the Daily sales for TVS Motors has fallen over the 5 days. Whether it is due to any production issues related to limited supply of crucial parts or simple drop in demand, it will be known in a few days time.

In terms of Market Shares for the Sales Data till 5th July, the figures go like this:

1. TVS Motors = 22.7%

2. Bajaj Auto = 21.6%

3. Ather Energy = 19.2%

4. OLA Electric = 17.6%

5. Hero MotoCorp = 8.1%

In terms of M-o-M progress, apart from Ather Energy making some marked improvement, River Mobility continues to report strong progress. Looks like it will beat it's June figure of 1264 units by a significant margin this month. We can also expect Hero MotoCorp to report healthy growth from this month, on the back of it's new model launch along with Battery-as-a-Service option. It remains to be seen if Indian consumer is ready for this novel alternative. Honda too is said to be trying Battery-swapping option with it's electric scooter models.
